Considering applying for an entry level business analyst (consulting) position at a competitor Big 4 firm. I just completed my first year in audit, so I’m wondering if it’s still appropriate for me to apply as entry level instead of experienced hire?

You can apply for entry level position but that does not mean you should settle for entry level salary. You are bringing some skills that most of the fresh out of college would not have and need to spend time to learn.

That’s a really good point, thanks man!

so say we have a year of audit experience but want to move to business consulting at Deloitte for instance, that year wouldn’t give us any advantage/bump?? i’ve developed so many skills so far that i definitely didn’t have before just this first year

oh ok, awesome!! i would hope so!!

Yes you would def be applying as entry level instead of exp hire unfortunately

That’s reassuring actually - I was thinking I could leverage my experience thus far more effectively than if I were a senior since the work is so different

ADVICE NEEDED: I just received a job offer in a new industry. An industry I’ve always wanted to try, but maybe not in the right practice. However, it’s not a bad offer and I’m scared it won’t come again. Do you think I should wait a few months and keep applying until I find a job that I am 100% happy to take without hesitation or does it usually never work that way? Thanks!
