You’re don’t have a chance of switching if you want to stay B4. Get into audit first.
I transferred from tax tech to fdd analytics so you can definitely do it if that’s something you’d be interested. I would just get some experience with power bi alteryx under your belt instead of solely Oracle/SAP solutions.
Thank you for the advice
I was in your boat last year and it was nearly impossible to move into FDD even with the hot market unless you have serious connections in that group. I had a masters/cpa and still not even an interview as the skills really don’t translate. If you’re still an associate I would recommend moving to audit ASAP or try to get another Advisory position but even then they’ll link you to some tech/analytics role
Thank you for the advice

What's tax technology? Is it like analytics? If so, try FDD analytics. I highly doubt you can get in FDD since tax and fdd have no shared knowledge. Some tax folks got into fdd last year but it was due to extremely good market which wouldn't come in a while.

And I don't want to say this, but if you went to good MSF program I am wondering why you went to tax in the beginning.
Don’t listen to people saying it’s impossible or that you’re stuck.
I would learn as much about FDD as you can so that you’re sure that’s what you want to do. If it is - look at entry level FDD roles in middle market when available or transfer to audit as a stepping stone.
Almost went into Deloitte TTC too but felt I’d pigeon hole myself, so I instead did MM IB FDD. I relate to your situation. Def first get more experience in either audit or advisory. Could consider deals analytics too. FDD is nothing better if you’d hate the job, given you probably had your own reasons going into tech consulting and analytics the first place.
Why would you want to leave tax tech? Unless you just really hate tax, I think that field is the future and will eliminate a lot of compliance work.
