Hope you get to a better spot, OP. Maybe try experimenting with different daily routines to try to get more energized. Surely your coworkers will have some tips on how to stay sane. Do your time and bounce
I worked 130 hours last week and am also in IB...no offense but 11 hours/day is a cakewalk

Not which I meant in like what size*
I hate be a little cold, but you are complaining about an 11 hour day in IB? That’s an average day in the big four. You should be 9am-1am daily at a bank. 9am-8pm is birthday cake. If you get off at 8pm in IB regularly you probably won’t be retained by the bank and others will get angry. Your average day should end on or after midnight.
I work 11 hours in FDD almost every day lol

11 is normal for FDD. If you can’t handle 11 hours then you should be in IB cause 11 ain’t SHIEEET for IB
Did you know what you were getting yourself into?
Work is going to continue to be your life. IB has never had any wlb. You will work through holidays/vacations, cancel dates last minute, and be expected to be available 24/7. You should reflect hard on whether you are willing/able to sacrifice some years all to work to secure a lucrative exit (without going insane first).

You’re complaining about working 55 hours a week (11 hours a day). I am shocked … for the relatively high pay in ibanking, you should feel blessed to only work 55 hours a week.
Yo, can I take your job?

Exactly why I wouldn’t go ib. I bet you’re getting paid more, but is it worth not having a life?
In my opinion, when we work to 8:30pm the day is already over. You arnt going out, doing some hobby, or making a legit dinner. Rarely do you have time / energy to then exercise. Going to midnight and doubling / tripling your pay for that largely unusable amount time of is quite marketable at that point. A day of life is like a cookie imo. If someone eats 85% of it, you may as well put the last 15% in the trash. In that logic, why not just work the few hours you’d be farting around on the internet and double pay?
Guess a position and D&P opens soon...
What was your raise going FDD to IB?
88k base as analyst at val, that’s impressive. That’s like a senior 1/2 at EY…
It’s brutal, you should have known what you are getting into. Though think about it - how old are you. Take it as an extreme sport. If Tom Brady could do what he does, so can you 😃
I just turned 24. Worked at deloitte for 2 years after college

How did you land the role? Cold apply?
