I am currently working at Cognizant. This is my first company, and I joined through a college campus drive.

When switching to another company, the new company asks for my current salary, can I increase the amount in my salary slip, offer letter and show a higher figure? Is it safe to do so, or could it cause problems in the future?

I had 21 as fixed and 3 variable. Good salary for my experience. But then came covid and now I'm at 48 fixed salary.
Thanks to covid I was able to achieve this salary at just 7 yoe. When I joined the industry my manager at 10+ experience was earning 10-12 lakhs.

Please advice which company would have a good growth story and work life balance....
