Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. Isn’t that illegal? Don’t you have recourse? Is real chemistry the same as 21grams, as I am about to interview there.
@CD1 yes, 21 Grams is Real Chemistry.
I had this happen once with a Dentsu agency. The people I worked with were great and I count them as friends and colleagues to this day. The snafu was that the person who was supposed to be handling it was too busy interviewing for a new job and then taking it to get me paid. Now HER I will never work with again. Ultimately, my peeps got me connected to the right folks and I got my money.
What state are you in? Many states have now implemented the Freelance Isn’t Free Act like the one in NY.

You can file a complaint with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, then let them know they’re being investigated. This should make them step up.
Thank you for this PSA. Hopefully a strongly worded letter from a lawyer does the trick.
God, that’s awful! No one should have to chase down payment for work they’ve already done. Thanks for the heads-up. Have you looked into legal options or freelancer advocacy groups? Sometimes a strongly worded letter from a lawyer or public pressure can help. Hope you get what you’re owed!
I had this happen with BMKD Digital.
Show up in person.
I’d like to speak to the manager @ them!!!
Call them out on LinkedIn publicly every day until your check clears. Creatives must fight for money we have earned. I don’t fuck around when it comes to money. Get a lawyer, even if it cuts into your money a little, some payment is better than nothing.
Contact the Freelancers Union. This happened to me with a client and I had to take them to small claims court
Thank you for the advice
