I went for 3 interviews with a company met with vp and was given package thinking I aced interview there was another candidate 😞 the other person for the job. The VP calls me to tell me I didn’t get position however he wants me to re apply in new year that something else will be open, and that he wanted to keep a copy of my resume what does this mean ? A few years ago, I proposed a grant to my Board of Ed, but was turned down... so I put it on DonorsChoose instead, and it got fully funded (about $2800), but my school district said I could not accept the grant under any circumstances! So I had to ditch the idea (and the FUNDING!)...

What are your thoughts on joining a startup that pushes for no structure in their company? Supposedly they thrive from what he told me but I’m not convinced. Is this really a thing?

Do recruiters and Hiring Managers actually review and read resumes? Also tech companies that sell SaaS, what is it with the requirements of having 10 years or more if technical sales experience? Also the ramp up period is not realistic. Average sales cycle for a reputable SaaS provider is 12-24 months. How on earth a start up can state that their ramp up period is 90 days? The company hasn’t had any new sales either. Start up CEO’s… be realistic or seek enough funding to operate.

I have a question about pricing. Some context to my upcoming question: My brother and I are starting a personal training business. I have six years military experience and he is still in the military. Collectively we have passed the hardest schools in the military and both love fitness and have experience building programs and are both certified personal trainers. I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m looking for suggestions/tips on where to start with a business idea. For years I’ve been wanting to open my own business (store front). I’m currently attending part time school and have a great full time job with excellent pay; however, as of two weeks ago, I had this feeling that I needed to go after my dream. I’m putting school on hold for now and using the extra time to focus on the business idea.
