AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

I evaluate it based on companies that tend to say their are so many growth opportunities internally but you get there and nothing. 
This is what I have been seeing as well. It seems like if you want to grow and be promoted you have to jump ship. I have been looking around for a bit but haven't been able to find anything.
It really appears that the days when employees remain with a company for a long time have come and gone, especially given the lack of retirement plans or even hiring from within. I think the day where you feel that your skills are either underappreciated or even stagnated might be a good indication. If anything, I would always keep your ears and eyes open for other potential opportunities.
