Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Has anyone reevaluated their retirement methods after a life-altering experience? I used to invest a lot more ($5k or so a month), but after losing one of my parents last year (mid-50s), I’ve wondered if it’s better to just enjoy life as we are living it. So, I started investing a lot less. But I always see people on here talking about all of these retirement schemes (backdoor Roth, mega-backdoor Roth, etc.) and I’m wondering if there’s a happy middle ground somewhere.

Does anyone do short term investing in the stock market (short term meaning 1day - 2 week trades) if so, what has been your best tool for research? Have you found this strategy to be worth it?

For those of you invested primary in index funds, do you have a combination you'd recommend? I'm 31yrs and currently have about $400k invested in a few stocks, mutual funds and ETFs. My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. Pre-approved for a home but the rate lock expired and now we have to re apply. My husband lets me know his credit score dropped 111 points because of credit card utilization. I don’t get why even the most reputable financial news still try to attribute market moves to people. It’s not individual investors who are in control of day-to-day moves anymore, it’s algorithms.
