ATS platforms often struggle to accurately filter candidates simply due to the massive volume of applications. That's why backing up your application with direct LinkedIn outreach to recruiters and hiring managers is a game-changer.
A great hack is using AI to simulate the ATS screening process. You can prompt it to grade your resume against the job description, give you a match score, and provide specific edits to boost that score to 95%.

Sometimes, those recruiters and hiring managers get lots of messages and you will not get an answer right away. Having a great LinkedIn profile, posting consistently talking about your skills and how you add value and commenting on others post in your sector, helps brings more eyes on you. Stop applying online, get on linked in, connect with people in the industry, find commonality, same college, same prior employer, whatever, find networking events that consultants attend.

You still need to apply at the end of the day. Break up your day and do both.

The ATS is just an electronic filing cabinet. It is still viewed by recruiters at the end of the day, but you need to make sure, you’re a good fit for the role. Also, you’re gonna get filtered out, depending on how you answered the questions. I made a video talking about this in this video. Been in recruitment for 10+ years and wanted to help job seekers in my own way. What is an ATS? And Why It’s Blocking You from Interviews

AI's pretty wild in the ATS space. I've used it to screen my own resume before sending applications, just like you suggested – letting the AI grade it and suggest fixes. Honestly, these platforms just can't keep up with volume, so anything extra helps, especially when recruiters barely get time to look at the stack.
I usually run my resume through Jobscan, ResumeJudge, and Resume Worded. Each gives a slightly different angle on what the bots are looking for, so you get a fuller picture. If you haven't tried those, they're handy for catching keyword gaps and formatting stuff that trips up ATS.
Curious, do you ever get recruiters replying to cold LinkedIn messages after optimizing your resume? Sometimes it feels more like a numbers game.
