I applied for a job I really want. It’s a step up. I got to the full Interview round. Then the hiring manager said they’ll interview 2 more candidates in the next few weeks. Then a few weeks later HR says they’re still interviewing but I’m still in the running. Then I ran into the hiring manager yesterday and he’s like “we still are interviewing but you’re still in the running!” What in the world is going on???

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

How necessary is an extracurricular for MBA apps? I work a ton of hours and don’t have a lot of time or interest in any activity that I could reasonably put on an app. I spend the little free time I have on activities I enjoy (spending time with SO and friends, working out, Netflix, etc). Would it be really bad if I had nothing in that section on my app beyond college extracurriculars? Or should I force some activity? I have enough time before I apply to make it look legit to adcoms.
