The fact that it's been weeks and they're still interviewing more people is frustrating. Not all that unusual though, as I've come to find out. Sounds like they're being exceptionally thorough. Good for them, very annoying for you. Hope you get it!
Pro
Wow I didn’t know it was normal to take this long… must be the new market - gives employers the upper hand.
I wouldn't overthink it. Things are just taking a long time. It sounds like you're still being considered, and that's good!
Pro
I hope that they’ll pick me ultimately! But holy cow this has been a painful process!
Pro
I’d take it as a pat on the back. They could’ve told you that you’re no longer in the running. It’s frustrating but just as you probably wouldn’t take the first job offered to you, they won’t take the first candidate they interview.
Pro
Yeah I think I got unlucky as the first candidate to interview. I heard that later candidates always have a higher advantage because they’re the last ones remembered.
Rising Star
It sounds like you are a strong contender but not the only one. Sometimes companies move slowly or are comparing internal and external candidates. Staying in the running is positive, but the delay usually means they are not fully decided yet. If it drags much longer, a polite check in for a timeline is fair.
Pro
It’s such a painful process to wait for them to make up their mind…
Rising Star
Sounds like they’re really dragging the process out. Sometimes it’s scheduling, sometimes they’re indecisive, or waiting for the “perfect fit.” It’s stressful, but if they keep saying you’re still in the running, it usually means you’re still being seriously considered.
Pro
I find it so strange - so they’ll look around and if nothing else is better, I’ll get the offer? I feel like a second class citizen a bit…
