I can MORE than relate to this. Are recruiters incentivized to keep candidates engaged even when candidates realistically have no chance?

It's terrible seeing stories like that. People are strung along, and let's be honest, a hiring process that takes four months is a broken system. You can process someone through Marine boot camp is less time. It's always good to be skeptical of all the good vibes and friendliness in these protracted interview situations. It's just easier for people to be nice and sound very positive, regardless of what the underlying reality may be.

I agree, however I have yet to find a company that doesn’t put you through 4-6 rounds of interviews. At this point in time, you’re interviewed longer than you’re onboarded.

I am curious if recruiters are directed to keep non viable candidates engaged until the end of the process.

Wife got lawyer, and I am interviewing lawyers starting tomorrow. I am primary breadwinner (95%), but she is citing at-fault divorce. I have been having substance abuse issues and anger issues (no physical violence). Need help. She is okay about negotiating outside lawyers. Can anyone recommend a divorce lawyer in ATL area? Any pointers? No kids. Married for 3 years. I paid her student loans and put her through school.

Sadly this is where I ended up (going through divorce with 6mo infant). Abusive spouse wants shared custody when he doesn’t know a thing about taking care of an infant.. any advice would help re custody or divorce as well. We are not in speaking terms
