I feel a bit awkward following up right now. Part of me thinks I should stay visible, part of me worries I will annoy someone who is already mentally on leave. what would actually help at this stage?

I stay available, but not super proactive during this time. So many people are already out on vacation anyway and I don't want my correspondence to get lost in the shuffle when they come back because I messaged too early.

That makes sense. I feel the same tension between staying visible and not disappearing completely. I think being lightly present without pushing outcomes feels right right now.

I've been having a few conversations that veer into holiday plans and more or less evade the subject at hand. It's just tough to get anyone to concentrate now. If you want to maintain visibility, check in and talk about their holiday plans, just don't expect to accomplish much.

That is exactly what I am seeing too. Conversations drift and nothing really lands. I like the idea of keeping it human and warm without expecting progress.

Hi Fishes,
Does JP Morgan match the offer to retain employees, and if yes do they do it immediately before the NP ends or do they revise it in next appraisal cycle.

Hello,

My name is Aaron Silverberg. I am a fish wandering down stream looking for a school to grow with.

I am in search of a full-time job in the digital marketing industry to help build on my entrepreneurial and marketing interests gained from the pop-up pizza shop I started in the summer of 2020 “Sadies.”

I am interested in building a brand, creating a following, growing a community and seeing how that brand maintains its image.

Hope to get in touch and have a nice weekend!

Visa friends! Had an interview in London, got the verbal, and am doing the visa dance. Started the process 2 weeks ago with HR and now they've ghosted me since then, though they said I have stuff to fill out ASAP. Normal? And am I too American pushy if I reach out to the hiring manager (and my future team) for an update instead?

I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Does anybody has tips or advices on what I should expect as a new hire and how I can set myself up for success? Thanks!
