Doesn't mean they were good at all of those roles
I have a friends that's like that. She will work at a job for 3-6 months and move on to another one just because she doesn't like it anymore. I'm more impressed with now does she keep finding jobs in this economy
Yeah, it also holds that person back because it's impossible to move up in a company when you keep moving around
……because some of these jobs are toxic. It can be a great company but some departments and unit floors are toxic. Working through journal articles many researchers point out that companies can have a great safety cultures, but some areas are still trying to find ways to improve their performance. I too, left 4 jobs last year because of poor safety cultures. I’m from a laboratory environments and one lab in particular made 6 CAPA errors in the only 6 weeks I was there. Answer to your narrative would be maybe that person left because they too saw or had to work with toxic people and said No.
It doesn’t make someone less good at their job or they can’t advance because they level up faster than others.
Everyone moves at their own pace.
I think it depends on the position and what the job entails. Some jobs are easily trainable, whereas some jobs require learning the team, learning the detailed processes, learning external teams, learning different workflows, learning your direct reports, etc.
Agree. Job hopping is not only a disservice to skill building but it really shows a lack of maturity in the ability to commitment and dedication. Anyone with a history of one year or less at prior employers I skip right past when recruiting new hires. You’re being paid to be here and yes we’ll try to make it an enjoyable and healthy work environment but again… your paid to be here if it was Disney Land every day we wouldn’t need to pay you now would we?
I affirm that you are not crazy, it’s just that most people don’t have a solid career strategy.
Job hopping is all the rage these days. People are looking for new challenges, more money and better benefits. And who can blame them really? The job market is competitive and there are a lot of great opportunities out there.
A mentor once told me “the good ones always go” and 12 years later in my healthcare career this has been true in every way.
