I feel like my job revolves around managing other people’s calendars. So tired of reschedules, double-booked meetings, and endless “can we push this?” emails. How do you keep your schedule under control?

To start with the business should be running using a shared calendar environment fully using Calendar features of whatever application you’re using for calendar appointments across the business. That way when you make a note send an appointment request to other persons in the business you should be able to see their availability

Ivan worked in large financial institution in Australia where my Team Leader would have a pre-booked every Tuesday at 2 pm one on one with me. I’m in working in a remote role and quite regularly. I turn up to one oh one and they wouldn’t present and then when I message them, I sorry I had another booking absolutely appalling especially when they knew that at that time every week there was a preset booking in advance of our one on ones what was even worse they didn’t even have the courtesy to let me know that they won’t be attending.

So I didn’t want to Sandra pain

Why is so much of your job reliant on meetings?

See if you can diversify meetings into threaded discussions as meetings are for displays somewhat rather than talks, when we need input we ask the company on a forum and ping people needing to see it, once all input has halted for 24 hours it turns into an email summarised with full notes as well from such discussion. Everyone involved or who needs to see it signs it off and we follow up stragglers with ongoing pings to such, it's mostly automated and people get sick of pings enough to actually sign off on things or reply. Meetings take up too much time and while yes they are focused and less on the record sometimes it's nicer to not need them. A text response is more often thought out than a spoken one.

Hey all! Need a couple book recs for an upcoming beach trip.

Looking for a great non-fiction, relating to travel or world history (not just one moment in time). Could also be about the marketing world or memoirs of a business leader kinda thing.

Fiction wise I also like fantasy, paranormal, and romance. Some fave book series are the Black Gryphon from Mercedes Lackey, Game of Thrones, and From Jamaica Lane series. Similar books?
