I feel like resigning! The office I worked in merged with RWJBH a few years ago and I we never got the proper training and support going to a big corporation. Now a new supervisor comes and finds everything wrong to the point that I now have anxiety. I’ve was given a write up for something I was never given any training on and while I was crying. Is this right? I need advise.

I hate that you are going through this, and understand how stressful the situation is. If the merger occurred a few years ago, the higher-ups should've noticed any problems much sooner. They should've arranged training prior to the merger, or immediately after, to ensure that all employees were familiar with the policies, practices and protocols. What you need to do now is calm down, take a deep breath, look at whatever criticisms you have received, and do the best you can. Ask the supervisor for training. Explain what happened at the time of the merger. Let them know you want to be the best employee you can, but you need help to get past this learning curve. Good luck. Don't cry. Don't worry. Worrying will not help the situation and it will not prevent anything worse from happening. The only thing that can do that is you and your efforts.

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I agree with HA1, take the time you need to process your feelings. It's difficult to change someone's perception about you but it's not possible. Don't waste your time or energy on trying to defend yourself as to why you haven't gotten the proper training the past few years (it also sounds like you've told them already). Take control of the situation and propose solutions such as how and who can provide you the training needed. I can only imagine how frustrating this is but you got this!

I wouldn't get upset to the point of crying. I would have noted on the write up that you have not received training for the policy and procedures they are requiring. When properly trained, one should have a check off list where you sign and the trainer sign that you have gone through necessary steps of training. Where was this sheet? If not being done, Then suggest going forward they start doing this as it is proper protocol in training.

waiting on a final written offer, messaged the recruiter yesterday but received an automatic reply stating she won’t be back until tomorrow. Email stated to reach out to another recruiter for immediate assistance so I did. I emailed her , she said these offers do take some days because of the Hr and HM has to sign it. Once that happens my recruiter should send me the offer. Either on the day she comes back, but by the end of the week. I am going stir crazy, I really hate my current job. Help…

I need some advice. I’m the Director for a women’s only RTF. Everyone on site is my direct report, with the exception of the therapists (they report to the Clinical Director). The clinical director is not usually on site, since we have multiple locations, and she is the CD for the entire company. One of the therapists has been a manipulative snake since she started here last December. This is her first job after college and she just turned 23. See comments for more info…

I have a new employee that started last Monday, unfortunately it’s not going to work out. Long story, but we’re fairly certain the individual is using Meth and appears to have started/restarted fairly recently. I work with physicians, so it’s a consensus. We have to terminate employment, but what ethical obligation do we have? Two young children at home and no spouse. This is weighing heavily on us.
