A milli is where it’s at nowadays
Maybe 200k?
It's no longer the major salary milestone it used to be thanks to inflation. With that said, the Midwest is one of the few regions in the country where you can still live somewhat comfortably on it. Assuming you're not in an HCOL city like Chicago, of course.
In your opinion, what is the major salary milestone now? And no I don’t live in an HCOL city like Chicago. My area is probably more like average cost
I’d say, for our family of 4, hitting $300k combined, made life so much better. We were able to have some lifestyle creep, start traveling without a lot of worry, and moderate emergency cash needs were handled in a pay period without debt.

As others have stated, with inflation it seems like 100k isn’t what it seemed like 10 years back. Rising food costs, housing, and every else just keeps going up with no end!

It’s def not the same major milestone that it used to be but I think it’s still a very good salary!
Depends on your age. Starting out, yes.
