I got an offer which gave me barely a day to make a decision and no negotiation . So i have to accept it although its a long commute, yes, 3 hours round trip. I was also interviewing a job that is near home to the final round but i have to withdraw due to the limited time frame to accept the other offer. Now i am re-assessing the long term fit considering the WLB, should i reconnect the one near home to continue the process if its still available and they are willing to do so?

Never withdraw even if you accept an offer ahead of time.

Reconnecting with the job near home sounds like a smart move, especially if it aligns better with your work-life balance. For future interviews, using PracHub can help you prepare effectively with real interview questions and coding exercises.

Stay in the process with the second firm. If you dropped out then use ChatGPT to write a well phrased email to get back in the game.

In the past I would have said nah you can’t screw the new/current employer. But those days are long gone. Don’t put the new job on LinkedIn. And f them for pressuring you like that. It’s a d!ck move.

Stay in the process for the other job. Calmly negotiate if they make you an offer.

And if you accept with the home firm then tell the current employer your “circumstances have changed and you need to resign effectively immediately”. Bring your laptop, badge and anything else they gave you and turn them in immediately. What goes around comes around. Giving you 1 day. Well how do you like them apples when I give you 1 days notice to quit.

Send the same phrasing in an email to your boss and cc HR. Then walk out. You’re already burning the bridge in their eyes so dragging it out 2 weeks doesn’t make sense for anyone.

Who cares what they think! That manager is a loser for pressuring you like that.

At the end of the day, you need to prioritise what is best for you. If that's continuing on with the second offer then absolutely do that. You don't want to be stuck doing long commutes.

How does everyone bill for family law matters? Do you always bill hourly or is there some flat fee, monthly or quarterly fee structure that could work, even in contested matters? I have cases that the clients end up spending $20-$40,000 on a contested divorce and this is really out of their budget. I feel that if my firm could charge a flat fee of $10-$15,000, it would still be beneficial from a client predictability and volume standpoint and would generate more referrals.

I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I’m pretty good at Salesforce and have thought about a SFDC admin type role, but that’s all I’ve thought of so far.

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

I can do referrals to Qualtrics feel free to DM me here if you either work an engineering or are customer facing.

Currently sitting on an offer for a intro/mid-level design engineer in the Raleigh-Durham Area and wanted to get an idea of the average paybands, online sites have such a large range (50k-400k) that it is hard to narrow in on a price to start negotiating

I’m an Environmental Protection Specialist and make pretty good money for what I do. I just feel like I have more to offer than being a worker bee in a system at 25. I work with a lot of retirees and would love to return in my latter professional years. I have my Bachelors in Applied Coastal Environmental Science and want to expand my options. Any suggestions that won’t require me taking a crazy pay cut? I’m pretty much open to anything.
