Because they are. Really, think about it. We work 8-10 hour days, have commutes, are lucky if we can make it to the supermarket after work, and are either at work or sleeping during normal business hours. We need a day to just catch up. And another to rest up. If we have only one day a week off (and in retail, we are often lucky to have that), we are always playing catch-up.
Taking vacation is even worse, especially if you travel. Oftentimes, it seems like we need a vacation to rest up after vacation.
I think the most important thing is, we all need to give ourselves a little slack.

So true! You come back from vacation more tired than before you left 😩 We really do need to stop expecting ourselves to bounce back instantly and just breathe a bit.
I feel you on this one. I hate that we have to use PTO for doctor appointment days. Nothing is worse than taking a day off to spend running around to appointments with zero relaxation. Honestly, I think you're onto something with taking 2 days off in a row.

Ugh yes! Day off should mean actual rest, not a doctor’s office tour. I swear, two days off back to back is the only way to even feel human again.
I'm feeling this same sentiment this weekend! We are currently moving houses and we have been going nonstop since Thursday. I'm technically having a 4-day weekend but man it does not feel like that. Some weekends are just like that. I hope next week will be a little more restful for both of us.

Oof, moving is no joke!Hope you finally get a weekend to just chill and breathe a little.
