Exactly! They can't. I mean how is it encouraging for people to move up? It is the opposite and I feel like I made a mistake doing that.

Wow that is very annoying to say the least. Sometimes I feel like these companies make up rules so they won’t pay their employees what is worthy of them being paid. A lot of these rules do not make any sense to me.
Many companies are understandably feeling even more the noose of an ever tightening economic smaller profit margin pinch. How long were you employed there to see if bonuses were "basically" based on a rating system that caters to those they like, don't want to loose than those that come into work on time, don't call out, make hardly if any errors, work the moment they clock in and make the effort to work as a team player. You honestly think honesty has anything to do with it when one could very well be working for a company that isn't ethical in the first place

Yeah I get it. They want you to be perfect in order to get good rating and hence bonus. But they should look at tenure as well when deciding who is their favourite.
It should have been a cumulative of your year. Everything is just a game they force you to play.

You are right, it should be but unfortunately it wasn't for us. I was hoping for a better bonus this year, but I guess have to wait until next year now.
