I had extra time today, so I sorted through a huge stack of magazines from over a decade that had been sitting around collecting dust. I thought I'd keep them forever, but I can find anything I want or need online now, so I'm donating them to the local library. Does anyone read physical, turn-the-pages magazines anymore... other than the ones in the doctor's offices? The times have changed, and I kind of miss life before the internet.

Journalism is the best job in the world but I feel like people are less likely to take my work seriously because I am female. So it's like they automatically think the only things I would be good at writing about are fluffy little human interest stories. I'm just a reporter like everyone else. Is there some way I can tell my supervisor that yes, I do like those stories, but I like being a serious reporter even more?
