I don't think I had any particular inspiration. I always enjoyed writing and I sort of just found myself writing content for news publication.

I thought I'd be fun to join the team for my college's newspaper and I just kept pursuing that until I ended up doing it as a career

I was a freelance writer for awhile and gradually found myself looking for more news assignments until it became my focus. The combination of storytelling and informing the public is something I've grown to love.

The ability we have as journalists to keep the world informed.

Love for helping others, supporting and letting people know their truths. I am a columnist.

I have always been interested in learning the most up-to-date information but can't stand how opinionated news sources have become. So I wanted to find a way to engage others with current events without trying to sway them one way or the other. It's difficult to remove the emotions sometimes but it is always interesting work and I feel that I'm doing something useful for society

Even when I was a little kid I could see the need for fair and balanced info, it bugs me when people just go with the prevailing opinion because they are trying to get people to like them. Like high school student elections which are really just popularity contests. And I think a lot of people don't question things enough, so I try to counteract that I guess? If that makes any sense.

I like knowing what's going on behind the scenes, maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist or something but I always think there's something people are trying to hide

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most, how pissed would you be if you were a supervisor and you had a new direct report on your team with a higher salary than you? The years of experience are the same, but you have 3 designations (they have 0), you have 3 licenses (they have just 2), they have little to no experience with technical complex claims (you have hundreds), and you have 3 years in management (they have 0).

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.
