Coustmer comes in and then ends up leaving with a grossed out look on his face just for him to put in a complaint about my appearance...he down right called me some nasty things for no reason. Still feeling gross about it. He was upset for no reason as far as I'm concerned.

Hello! I was recently contacted by tech recruiters for PMM roles and they both shared job descriptions for 12 months contract coming with a fixed salary. I was wondering if there would still be room for negotiations during interviews with hiring managers or these recruitment agencies are supposed to hire contractors within the budget. What are the usual compensations you can negociate when you are not directly contacted by the client? Is limited to salary & bonuses?

Do you disclose when you were promoted on your CV? I’ve been as a assistant manager for over a year but have just been ‘promoted’ to manager. Have been doing the same role for the entire time… only thing that changed was my official role title. Do I need to split this out into two roles on my CV?

Would ideally like to keep as one optically to avoid having to ‘spend more time in the manger role’… as I’ve been doing that role for a year now and keen to move on!

I’m dealing with a difficult management situation and don’t know what to do, how would you report someone when nobody really cares what’s going on or is automatically going to side with the other person?

As a manager of a restaurant, how is it best to address parents with screaming babies/children given that it is not a kid-encouraged establishment? The parents were oblivious to proper etiquette and other guests complained making the parents of the screaming baby wildly offended. How does management appease all parties? I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

I've been at the same cafe for four years and am realizing my opportunities to earn more and grow are limited here. The owners are incredible and I’ve made a ton of friends here, but I can’t keep delaying a change. Any advice on getting over that fear and making a move?

Do you think culinary school is worth it? I've been a waiter for a year but really want to be a chef. The people I work with say to just start in the kitchen and work my way up but I think culinary school might get me where I want to be faster. The cost is pretty insane though. Any advice?
