I am lucky to have a great manager who combines leadership, empathy, and strategic thinking, inspiring their teams to perform at their best. He communicate effectively, listen actively, adapt, and prioritize growth, driving productivity and morale.

I echo with your thoughts on a manager's role in a workplace .. Basis your manager's review, curious to know which firm do you work in ..

uplifting

The impact of a manager on an employee's job satisfaction and overall experience cannot be overstated. Bad managers can create toxic work environments, erode morale, and hinder professional growth. Employees often leave not because of the job itself, but because of poor management practices such as micromanagement, lack of communication, or failure to recognize and appreciate their contributions. Recognizing the critical role managers play in employee retention is essential for fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Well every subordinate hates their boss or manager.vcan we get ideas as to what we can do so our subordinates don't hate us ....thoughts 🤔

I think if the leader is biased towards some PPL and you have a skip that is always in his bubble of perception (whatever the leader tells is the source of truth) , there's not much that can be done to reduce the hate . Even if you try to caress their egos , you will end up with their cronies getting credited for your extra efforts . Of course if it's work related, tech that you work on or something that is not done purposely to drag you down there's scope . If it's bias, there's no scope of improvement. That's what I think . It might not correlate with everyone but it's my personal experience..

After 10 years of waking up everyday saying " i hate my boss", I found the right boss in my next job. Now I can proudly say that I like my boss. My ex colleagues earn a lot better than me, but I am much happier than them.

[Help]

I started trading during Covid crash. Started with equities and eventually moved to options. Earlier lost a month's salary and then lot more trying to recover it. Currently have lost my yearly salary worth and it's affecting all aspects of my life (job, marriage, health). I have tried to convince myself to consider it a loss but always get back trying to recover it.

Any advice how to deal with it. Thanks.

I got a job offer but it's 3k less than the low end of my happy range. But there will be a review in 6 months with the potential for a raise. I'd rather start at the low end of range. What is the best way to ask for that??

How do I know Big-Law is not for me?

I am a first year who just started a couple of months ago and I am literally confused all the time. I did some small work for two partners and they loved it, so put me on new deals but the mid levels I am staffed with absolutely hate the work I do. One said the work I did was laughable. I felt bed because I spent over 25 hours on this. I wouldn’t be very bothered but the other Associates in my class are killing it. So I just feel dumb all the time.

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.

Recent projects have moved me more towards stakeholder engagement, training, and comms roles. I used to be a BA in industry, what can I do to move back toward that type role and find a new job?

Any SAP EWM fish in here? I am new to SAP and just finishing my first project in EWM. Would like to continue building Expertise in this Module.
I am therefore looking for advice on how to go about this?
Which areas within EWM to focus on or start with to build a good foundation.
I have not had formal training so just learning on the HUB and by doing as I go.
But I feel like I need to focus on one area. I cannot decide how/ what though.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you.

Has anyone bought nothing phone 1 ? Hows experience ?

5+ years of full-time job as developer and still waiting to reverse a LinkedList at work.

Since there is a heavy impetus on solving Tree, LinkedList, and Graph problems for tech interviews, it can naturally make freshers believe that these concepts will be used in day-to-day life at work. In reality, most of these DSA concepts are already implemented in some libraries our code uses and we rarely have to code such Algorithms by hand.
