I have recently heard from a fellow nurse who turned in notice for another job that the company I work for requires a 3 week notice to pay out PTO. I work as a hospice nurse in Michigan. Wondering if this is legal since this is money/time off that I have earned. I have over 100 hours of PTO and would like to give them the standard 2 weeks as a courtesy. I like my boss, but they don’t pay nurses well.
Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, if so please let me know. I’m looking to try to shift into Human Resources direction. I took some class in college but a professor advised me to not continue since “no one really likes HR so why get a minor in it” and suggested a minor in communication instead.
So long story short I regret following that suggestion. Does anyone have any suggestions on certifications/classes I can take, or where I can better learn more about HR and what it entails.
