What is making you feel exhausted? Is there anything you can outsource at home to take things off your plate, or create time/space to do things that restore you?
I was so effing bored in-house I went back to big law lol you need a vacay to reset or switch up your routine so you break the monotony
Really? I’m so bored rn but cannot imagine going back to billing again…
Do you have a partner? Are they taking on some of the family responsibility? Is there anything you can outsource at home?
If it’s a good in house job that pays well, I don’t see how going back to a firm will help the burnout. I’d take some time off and go on vacation and disconnect if you can. Then make a plan to outsource and simply family work.
I left to go back to big law. But i slightly pivoted to a related area to gain more skills. So that is always a possibility. That being said, I’m so exhausted I wish I had just picked up a hobby or started volunteering to take up more of my time so I didn’t spend so much time sulking in how boring it was. I have zero life but two kids under 4 and firm work is not compatible with having any family obligations. I even have juniors that are scared to get a dog because of time commitments in private practice. Give yourself a like 30 day workout challenge or something to break up the monotony. Try working out or doing something consistently over your lunch break.
This. Burnout by boredom is better than burnout by volume.
