If it’s true that you can gain full immunity after recovering from COVID (when science says so ofc), will the plan be to antibody test people and let them resume daily life if they have immunity?

Do you really think this will be a plan of an administration who can’t get enough tests in first place?

Of course they should listen to him! I just don’t think Dr. Fauci should govern. There are a million different factors we need to weigh. And these are basically political decisions that should be made by someone with a democratic mandate. Shocking I know in a democracy

To be honest the original post just said that they should listen to him. Which is 100% sensible obviously 😂. I was more resounding to the idea that people want him, and only him, to have any say.

I’m hoping that this will be case because then we can start mitigating the economic harms while staying safe by letting “safe” people go outside.

None of us can answer this question. If, following extensive testing, recovered patients are proven to not be carriers then maybe. But that is a while away so just keep washing your hands and not getting close to anyone you don’t live with.

There are cases of recovered people getting the virus for the 2nd time in China

These aren’t confirmed. Could be that they never were never truly recovered or had a false negative. There isn’t enough data at this time to prove out these one off anecdotes. What’s more important is if they can spread after recovering. I have recurring mononucleosis and am very rarely aware when I’m having a flare because symptoms are mild, but I am contagious during flares.

People can get a cold and the flu more than once a year so I have a feeling that the same can be for covid

As of right now.. the cold has been around for years, no reason covid won’t adapt and mutate too. We just don’t know yet

We don’t know yet.

I haven't really been paying attention. Can somebody let me know what the covid vaccine actually does? Does it just surpress the symptoms for myself, or does it actually stop the spread?

Would really love to help my lovely sister in law find a job in NYC or CT. She is a certified nutritionist, celebrity personal chef (her current job in Aspen but she is moving to Westport in January) and an all-around terrific, dedicated, hardworking person. She gets down around the holidays because she's single and doesn't have kids, but is an amazing aunt to our kids. Does anyone have any leads in the health/ wellness space? Im in biglaw and this is out of my depth a bit. TIA, Happy Holidays!

How long did you wait to tell your boss you’re pregnant? I’m 7 and a half weeks pregnant and have a subchorionic hematoma so my doctor has been doing twice weekly scans to monitor because of my previous miscarriages. It’s obviously affecting my availability and I want to tell my boss but I don’t know if it’s the right decision.

My American citizen 8 month old is on tourist visa in India; current stay runs out on June 7. Flying outside the country is a risk we don’t want to take w/COVID. Don’t want to overstay the visa either. So we applied online on eFRRO to convert his visa to X-1 so we can apply for his OCI. They didn’t ask for payment and message popped up saying watch your text/email for next steps. Anything else I can do?

Last night BF and I went out to dinner since neither of us wanted to cook. We were having an enjoyable evening and ran into a former co-worker and her husband who I have not seen since before COVID. Ex co-worker made this odd scene about my "glow up" and even posted to social media a picture she insisted both couples take.
Anyone else ever find themselves in a similar situation?

Rant: I finally got a baby registry started and sent the link to family... and immediately was told all the things I need on there that I don't have (including things I'm opting to just NOT GET, like an electric pump - why is my nursing preference up for debate????). I hate it already. I'm tempted to take it down, buy it all myself and just tell people to start a college fund if it bothers them.

I'm 38, have had 4 miscarriages and the PRESSURE OF THIS PREGNANCY is unreal.

Boss has WFH for 9months. I have been WFH for 2-weeks for travel quarantine/state guidelines. She now requires that I go back to the office to “show face” that HR is right alongside the essential employees. I have been more productive from home vs the office. I get the perspective of team unity, but is it wrong to feel there is no reason to risk my health? The company justifies increasing my covid risk (high-risk already) to “show face”, when my job is being fulfilled while WFH. Am I crazy?

During pre covid I met someone “Desi” on an app and we hit it off, everything was going great for initial 4-5 months until we both realized that she is a US citizen and I am STILL on a visa.

Kya palti fir woh ! Kaat diya.

Everything was Going great till my visa status came into picture, after that she was like you won’t be able understand me or my lifestyle.

I love the C in ABCD. Confused or chutiya whatever.

Biggest 🤦‍♂️ moment for me yet.
