Given your pregnancy, I’d take advantage of your leave. There are too many unknowns
Also consider when you get back going into an old comfy job will be easier on your transition than a new job expecting you to perform above what you know.
Hi analyst. This happened to me a few years ago and ultimately i turned the job down. In hindsight I wish I hadn’t, because the pay bump was really helpful. As was the sidestep into a new sector. But you live and learn.
The missing factor here is do you *need* the nine months pay? Which by the way is insanely generous and I would be very tempted to stay. But- if you can manage on your savings and your other half’s salary then you should go back to the prospective employer and be honest. See if they can offer a golden handshake package.
Hi ladies, just a quick update — I made it to the fourth and final round of interviews and had the chance to meet the team. They were genuinely warm and welcoming, and the process has been so long that I feel like I’ve built a really positive relationship with both the team and the firm.
He was quite supportive, and said that this should not impact the decision and whether you told us now or later we would certainly accommodate your mat leave. Which I thought was nice to say, so I’m not sure if I’ll be receiving an offer from them now lol
After my final interview, I called the recruiter and shared that I’m expecting. I let him know I’m happy for him to pass this on to the team, and I also mentioned that I completely understand if this impacts their decision based on business needs. If that’s the case, I’d absolutely respect it and would love to be considered for future opportunities.
