I have a query regarding background verification. During my previous employment, I worked for another organization for one month while still employed with my primary employer (moonlighting). This short-term employment appears in my EPFO records, but the other organization did not have PF registration. I have recently received an offer from one of the Big4 firms and want to understand:

Could this reflect negatively during my background verification process and should I inform them prior??

I feel like I’ve lost myself since joining McK. My whole world has become about work. I love my job but I’m not the same person I started and I feel I don’t connect with my friends and family the way I use to. I’m not sure if I’ve grown, or lost a part of myself. Is this growing up or do I need to make a career change?

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

First year trainee here. Having the standard wobbles but generally surviving.

My question is - how can I tell if I'm doing well? More specifically, what common and avoidable mistakes (specific or general) do trainees make, and what attitude or actions impress you?

My SO came in to an office and they quoted us $800 for deep cleaning after insurance, which is 4x what we paid for deep cleaning at the previous dentist in Houston. They also wanted us to pay upfront before any procedure is done. That seems very sketchy to us, so we’re looking to get second opinion and switch office.
