I have got an offer from Ford motor for SG7 and in offer letter its written as Home Based. HR is saying it's completely remote. I have to occasionally visit Chennai office.

Can someone confirm whether is it true. Because when iam checking online discussions, everyone is saying that there is no Wfh at Ford.

To answer your question Ford offers remote roles. If the offer mentions HOME BASED it means the role itself is remote and you don't need to come to the office irrespective of the department(Couple of my teammates are also home based) but having said that the LL5s have the authority to ask you to come to the office ocassionally or make your role hybrid(4 days work from office) based on the requirement of the work. I would suggest to speak with your hiring manager or the HR recruiter and confirm the same.
I have spoken with the HR she is saying that its remote position and occasionally sometimes, when there is a big meeting or some other event, etc,. you would need to visit the office.

Security team in EPEO has remote. There is in venicle security team and they have 4 days mandatory wfo.

There are remote roles in every department. If they are offering you remote it will stay remote only. Only for hybrid employees (90 percentage of employees are hybrid) this 4 days a week to office is valid.... Btw just curious how much are they offering?
Current ctc :- 8.3 lpa
Ford offered :- 16.22 lpa + 2.28 lpa variable
Total yoe= 3.7
Domain= BCP+DR+Cyber Resilience planning
(HR is claiming that I will be getting all 2.28 lacs variable pay, no deductions will happen but in offer letter it is written as performance based, do you have any idea here. )
What are your shift timings?
if you already have a skill and are product ready.. then yes.. if not Ford is not a non profitable organisation.. it does pay you for the existing skill not for something you wanted to do just like any org.
