This might get me banned from this platform: are you working for the post office at 60k a year?

With this attitude OP is being overpaid by an amount equal to at least half of their current salary.
No, just all set boundaries. Why do you need to respond just because it’s in your box. Absent a desperate phone call/a previous commitment, no reason to jump on anything. I used to be so frustrated when I’d send a text/email and then not get an answer same day because I’m a “responsive type,” then I realized those people had it right. Sure I was annoyed but bottom line they did not suffer “real” consequences for not responding. Meanwhile I was all in my head.
I mean I’m down for this union.
Who cares if the partner emails after 7:30pm? Maybe they couldn’t get to their work all day because of other commitments. Unless there’s an emergency there’s no reason to respond to an email as soon as you receive it. Just respond in the morning.

Just need an email blackout

The thought a forming an associates union is pretty interesting. Setting aside the fact it won’t work, like how much would the union fees be? What firms would you have represent you? News flash, the best union lawyers work at the same big law firms and, even if they don’t, you think they want to piss off the collective legal industry? Even if worked, you going to sue the law firms in court in front of the judges who are friends with the leaders of these firms and worked at those same firms too? Who do you think these judges go in front of to arbitrate/mediate after they retire? To be clear, I don’t like the current working environment either but a union? Unions…
