I have plenty of mentors who give me great advice, but I realized today that I don’t have a single sponsor. Like someone who actually uses their power to get me in the room. It feels like men in my department get tapped for opportunities over drinks, while I’m just told to keep working hard. How did you find someone who was willing to actually put their neck out for your career? Is it purely a networking game, or am I missing a step?
