I have spent a lot of time learning through research, documentation, and hands on practice because the pace of AI changes so quickly. Sometimes it feels like independent learning adapts faster than traditional programs can keep up. Formal credentials may open doors, but real understanding still comes from continuous learning and application. In fast moving fields like AI, what matters more today, proven skills or formal certifications?

You do need both. Credentials to prove you can accomplish something within a structured organization, application to demonstrate the results you can produce.

That's fair. Credentials get you past the gate, but skills keep you in the room. In AI, skipping either one feels challenging right now.

We’re having an Indian wedding on a Sunday with ceremony in the morning, followed by lunch, and then cocktail hour + reception.

Given that the wedding starts early, we will have guests (~30) flying in the day before. What is the expectation in terms of arranging dinner for them? We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.

Additional Posts in Job Hunting in Tech

Looking for some advice on how to branch off into a job in tech. I’m a Mechanical engineer interested in working in a big tech company. I have some programming experience but excel mostly in mechanical and product design as well as 3D CAD. Was wondering if any other mechanical engineers have managed to make the shift from a traditional mech job to a tech job and if you could give me advice on the best path that worked for you. Thanks!

Please, I need your opinion on this. I have 6 years of experience as a software developer and just finished my masters degree in data science. Now I am looking for a job here in the US. I went through the hiring process with this company and finally got an offer. They offered 88k/year and I responded opening a negotiation. They emailed me back saying that I am no longer in this process anymore with no further explanation and in Thanksgiving day. Is that normal?that email really got me very upset

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. What is the environment like and has anyone been in a situation where the contract with TCS and the client ended and had trouble with TCS finding them a new role at the same pay?

Considering a Product Owner role. Any best practices of what questions to ask during an interview? First phase deals with a virtual Teams interview with the recruiter and her manager on Tuesday. Excited since this is a hop from a Product Analyst role and entails an offer of over $30,000 from what I'm getting now! This would be a permanent full-time compared to my current contractor role that ends in March.
