Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?
