Hi there. Ex Deloitte Sr Mgr here, currently in tech pre sales (SaaS / MarTech). Recently spoke to both Salesforce and Adobe recruiters for roles that I thought were lateral moves (Sr SA / Sr SC), therefore I did not proceed with the selection process. The recruiters from both companies told me they typically hire at that level, and people are considered for promotion to Principal in 1 to 2 years. I found that odd. Is that right? What’s the typical TC for SAs and SCs there? (15+ yrs exp).

You compete with your peers every day. There is nothing wrong with a recruiter coaching their clients on how to get the job they are going after. Stealing documents is obviously a problem but I doubt the recruiter told them to do that lol

Other than coaching to steal documents, not sure what the issue is here (don’t get me wrong - that’s a big, big issue). But in terms of poaching - They placed someone two years ago. Non-solicits are 6 months to 1 year old.

Seems a bit grimy, if not downright shady and unethical. But unfortunately, it’s not like recruiters owe fiduciary duties to applicants, and the industry is often a bit of a Wild West since there aren’t really meaningful professional/ethical standards governing the profession. Their incentive is simply to get placements
Might have better luck in the Ask a Recruiter - Law bowl.

Seems like a super weird situation all around, with not much precedent. For one, while there isn't anything beholden them pulling this associate after an appropriate amount of time, there may be some language in fee agreement disallowing them to use certain proprietary info learned, perhaps this kind of thing. Idk what recourse would be, but it's at least an ethical issue. Also seems weird overall to help an associate write such a business plan, both being they are an associate and in such a smarmy fashion.
