I have noticed in the housing prices have skyrocketed. I purchased a house in 2010 and sold it for almost double in 2017. I purchased another home in 2019 after selling our other home for 150k more…after owning it for two years. I do not understand why this is possible and I can’t understand how it is sustainable. Young people looking for their first homes must have difficulty finding anything close to Nashville.
We moved to Nashville in 2019 and bought a West Nashville home in 2020 for a good price bc we got in before the house went on the market. We already need something bigger (kids grow) but can’t afford anything bigger, even given what we’d make if we sold our place.
I’d give my left arm for even the tiniest home office space!
As a native of Nashville, I recently made the decision to buy because the rent has significantly increased. I was paying $625 for a 1 bedroom 700sq ft apartment in 2011. That same apartment now is $1,300.
