I default to the belief that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Any job posting that promises flexibility and the ability to WFH sets off alarm bells for me. Same thing with promises of weekly pay. And if anyone says they're going to send you a check to purchase home office supplies, run. The check will bounce and you'll be out the money. I've seen tons of posts on Fishbowl describing this and it's always a scam.
Some red flags I watch for include vague job descriptions, emphasis on “unlimited earning potential” without clear details, or pressure to make decisions quickly. If they dodge questions about work-life balance or turnover rates, that’s a big sign too.
