I’m in Oak Forest off Roslyn and love it - great people, great value (slightly less expensive because of the school zoning), easier access to TC Jester trails, no Ella craziness. But the lot set backs in Garden Oaks are definitely optically better. Personally, we’re experiencing the pains of neighborhood construction (traffic, nails in tires, etc.) but am grateful we don’t have the absolute cluster that is the Golf / Wakefield perpetual digging project.
Garden Oaks Section 1 (30-34th between Yale and Shepard) if you are commuting downtown or elsewhere inside the loop. Super quick and easy access to 610 and 45. Hardly any cars cutting through Section 1 so it’s safe to walk, ride bikes, etc. Can walk to the park, Common bond, Cottonwood. Larger Garden Oaks lots are more desirable than Oak Forest; I don’t feel like my backyard neighbors are on top of me.
We're on 33rd!
Garden oaks. Better schools I think
By ranking, oak forest has the better school.
We're in garden oaks. It's all aboit your preference ; garden oaks has larger lots and I'd guess on avg costs more. Oak forest has a better elementary if you're zoned to it and it matters to you
