Name one thing every engineer should have.
Say you’re an Assurance Senior 3 and want to transfer soon as you hit Manager back to your hometown office. Should you secure the manager promotion at your current office first or go ahead and initiate the transfer at S3? I’m scared that they won’t accept me over their current S3s and so I think the safer bet is to make manager first then transfer. Deloitte EY PwC
Also, how desperate are firms for Managers these days? I know seniors and staff are in demand but I rarely hear about Managers.

You need to directly apply for the jobs matching your profile basis you have completed 2 years within same Business unit.
If matched with requirements you will be asked to share your details to recruiter if good again followed by 2 rounds tech plus manager
No need to discuss with current MANAGER. Also this applications are anonymous and they will not be aware of it.

Sap internal interviews are more difficult than external ones and you don't even get salary Hikes.
Appeared for 10 interviews internally and got rejected even though they went fine.
On the other hand cleared 5 out of 6 external interviews and joined a company for much better role and hike
Strong referral is needed for internal transfer in Sap

If you don't have a strong referral to the hiring team,your attempt for internal transfer won't be successful.

A lot depends on other factors too.
In past I had secured two internal transfers without any referrals.
This year I had strong referral and HM reached out to me personally. But then they interviewed 16 candidates for one position.
It’s all screwed up here.
I have a friend who got a internal Job without having any skills in the area because he was referred by a VP
