How early is too early to decorate for Christmas? I'm very much in wait until after Thanksgiving camp, but my neighbors have had so much stuff up since November 1st!

I had mine up in October mid not for Christmas but for Diwali which is a Hindu festival celebrating lights and the victory of good over evil.

Take a drive through Tanglewood, some folks have had decorations up since october

It is really up to you. Don't let people dictate what your traditions are in your home. I know some people who leave their tree up all year long.

My decorations are up! Life is too short. Why not enjoy the pretty lights and relaxing Christmas music as long as possible?

Before Halloween is too early

Most of my neighbourhood does it after Thanksgiving. However, some do it after Halloween.

I set it up first week of November. It takes so much effort to put everything up. I want it up as long as possible to make it worth it.

like

Its never too early in my book LOL. But I usually try to wait until atleast December 1st. I am not going to say I have always been succesful at this though. I have definitely decorated before November 1st though.....hate to admit that LOL.

I have no say, my wife went from Halloween to Christmas decorations in a day.

Where is this? It’s time to start the war on Xmas

Whatever makes each individual or family happy. Personally, I prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving, but during the pandemic, I did put my tree up earlier because I just needed a little more joy in my life. I know people who keep their tree up all year. To each their own.

My Christmas tree was up 11/3 lol it’s never too early

Live your best life. I put mine up on the 2nd.

As someone not from HTX, feels weird to have Christmas stuff up when it’s 80+ outside. Grew up in a “no Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving” household, but I think mid-November is fine

maybe this weekend after veterans day sounds reasonable to me

I mean I would have given I’m gone for thanksgiving (I just normally use the long weekend) but I’m also gone for Christmas so I’m like meh, seems like too much effort to decorate when I’m only gonna be here two weeks (if even that with work travel)

I mean....can we leave the tree up all year? Bevause that would be my recommendation.

No, ay this point it's all fair game. It's basically "cold" season now, so let the lights come out and the decorations fly lol

CFP study programs:

I'm a little confused on Danko - does he offer a self-study option for the coursework requirement? On his website it looks like each module has a 4-day virtual class which I wouldn't be able to attend due to working full time. Does this program also include self-study material, and the classes are just supplementary/optional? I was also looking at Dalton for self-study and Danko for test prep. Thoughts?

TIA

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

I sublease an apartment from a friend who is currently in Jail unfortunately. I wasn’t in the lease and the apartment found out from my personal check which I paid for the rent.

They refused the rent and after the three day notification has passed they refused the cashier’s check here in Orange County.

The apartment has put him up for eviction and I feel bad about this cos it was cost savings. Is there anything I can do to save this?

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
