I lateraled to a larger firm about 6 months ago. I would call it regional big law in the Midwest, but it’s not on the same scale as coastal big law. I hired into a speciality practice group and technically I am split between two practice groups. I am struggling to pickup work. I am barely scrapping up 100 billable hours a month. As much as I try to network and ask for work I just can’t seem to get much work from either practice group or practice groups that are adjacent. I would love advice.

How often do you respond to emails from law students who want to learn about your firm/practice area? I get like a dozen requests right around OCI every year. Frankly I’m tired of speaking to them and answering the same boring questions, especially if I know they have a low GPA and no chance of summering at my firm, but I do feel bad saying no/ignoring them
