In the case of recess talk, when they aren't in a classroom setting and aren't intending to be provocative...children can use hyperbole just like adults in casual settings. In situations like that, they could be learning opportunities, "why might nuking them be an overreaction, how can we put limits on disagreements? What do we do in our school when we see someone doing something wrong?" If it were a classroom setting and a student says that out of the blue that is a completely different matter. I would contact guardians, but I would stick to the issue at hand. The issue being the disruption and intent to be provocative and keep the conversation along those lines.
