Oh, the beauty of the solo Sunday brunch ☺️🍳
I agree wholeheartedly:
Good jobs for introverts? So over consulting.

There is a difference between shy and introversion, they are not the same thing although it is a common misperception.
Female introvert here. I’m definitely not shy, I don’t find it hard to speak to people individually or in groups. Just that I prefer quiet and solitude over crowds, alone time over happy hour, prefer to do most things alone (e.g., go to movies) so I don’t have to coordinate logistics with other people, etc.
I find loud groups and team events draining after a day of being “on” at work. People do not “energize”me, alone time does
Ambivert, male and brown here. I can lead and facilitate a workshop but am ready to head back to my hotel room at 6pm for me/alone time. Hate networking events and team dinners
I actually think some of the better leaders might be introverted but develop coping mechanisms. Narcissism isn’t a great leadership quality, and excessive charisma can cover for lack of operational or execution discipline. Results speak for themselves and also inspire confidence.
Doesn’t mean I don’t long for a soak in the bath or to spend an evening on the couch with my husband instead of going for team drinks and client dinners.
Everything in moderation and let results speak for themselves.
😬 guy. Strat not tech. Def not shy, but get energy in quiet spaces, and expend energy at the cyclic rate in busy spaces.
Lol @ “respective male bowls"
I love reading responses from folks at leadership on this post! Very uplifting. I thought I can never make it up to that level with my introversion. You guys give me hope. Haha 😁
OP - in case it helps for context, I’m an SM as well and have found coping mechanisms to deal with the professional demands, but the whole team/event dinner thing is definitely something I minimize in order to retain my sanity otherwise all that human interaction makes me cranky
Male here. Not at all shy. In strategy vs tech. People would be shocked if they knew I loved this bowl. :) I can be energized but also exhausted by groups and interactions. I need my alone/quiet time.
As f, I start out shy, then realise I just don't like those people but am forced to work with them, so I just don't end up hanging with them and get labelled 'quiet and shy'. No, it's 'slightly seething hatred and focussing on work'. 🤣
@SM1: do you have a role open at your project that I can fill in? I’d love to work with you, man!
/no flattery. I’m serious. I say this because I truly believe your explanation about doing it in moderation. But I’ve received reviews from some of those extroverted SMs that “your work is great but you need to go out more on team dinners because ya know....’visibility’! And I’m like, dude, look at my work and people & client appreciation to know more about my ‘visibility’ and it’s not like I miss all of the team events...I just miss the ones at times when I give precedence to myself more than anyone else. They never understand. Smh
Another SM here :)
Introverted man here

Full disclosure when I created the bowl I spammed it among my other female centric bowls 🤦🏼♀️ please share among your respective male bowls so we can get equal representation!

Dude here, I sorta had a lot of sales jobs when I was growing up. At this point I can read raw human emotion without saying a word so I avoid most other people in order to keep myself from behind sad.
I'm an introvert but definitely not shy. I like to deliver quality work, work efficiently with team. I don't like to socialize outside work as I like to workout and have some time for myself. That helps me to be in right mindset and be productive next day. While I don't prefer team dinners, I do attend them to socialize, share information and know what's going on praise work in the firm.
I am a man who is a man, and also introverted. I literally build dark, cold caves out of office cubicles. Today I was complimented on having my wing of the office in the 60s, with the lights turn off, and with all doors closed. I took it as a compliment.
