Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Definitely need to bring that up. Are the expectations the same too? I don’t know if it’s a direct red flag yet bc they can always change it after you’ve accepted it. I think it’s a red flag if they start paying you less.
Makes sense - thank you!
Yeah I wouldn't sign until they adjust it. Is anything else different? I wonder if they just forgot to update it with the proper title? You should be able to figure out if it's a red flag by talking to them though.
Where at?
No.
I wouldn't sign it. I would talk to the HR person you're talking with first. It could just be an honest mistake that they forgot to change.
That’s what I’m hoping too. Thank you!

Is there a meaningful impact to the title, such as removing "Senior," or is this a case where it's more aligned to the role or otherwise saying the same thing in slightly different words?
I would ask about it, though I wouldn't be concerned, being that all else is the same. If the change could possibly impact career progression, I'd lean a bit harder into the "why."
It may or may not be a red flag. A lot of companies list their job titles differently to external websites than they do for internal sites. The reason for this is that their titles may be broad and cover a wide range of different roles under that job title. You can confirm this with HR and if they tell you differently, then you should discuss with them any equitable adjustments as it may be illegal if they have mislead you about the role.
That is a red flag. You should ask about it and what the job expectations are if they are the same as posted
