Maybe your coworkers take longer to respond because they are busier than you are.
It totally depends on the company. Most places treat their attorneys like adults and didn't micromanage, but there are certainly a few companies that track badge in/out times or even time at desk.

I log off early all the time. Securities counsel and outside quarterly reporting season, I generally don't have much to do. So long as I get my stuff done, people don't seem to care what I do.
So you’re asking us to tell you whether the people in your office are clocking your face time at work? I think your best bet is to gossip and “network” a little more at work.
But to your question, yes. Private law practice affords substantial autonomy. In house positions, by contrast, can be beholden to a corporate culture that values time in the office and people will watch for frequent early departures from or tardy arrivals to work.
You’re new so the business may not come to you as they have more comfort with the attorneys they’ve been working with. Are you reaching out to others in your group to offer assistance so you can learn what they know?
You’re probably fine, but “read the room” to see if you should dial up the water cooler socializing more.

Also securities counsel. Bro no one cares. I show up if there is the rare in person meeting with internal clients. Other than that I barely go in and if I do its maybe from like 930 to 1

It never hurts to provide the appearance of working hard around the clock. That might mean sitting on something and emailing it out in the evening or early morning.
Depends on company culture and your manager. My company is very strict about in office days and lots of teams have micromanagement of hours, but my manager and their manager (local GC) are very lax. They let us arrive late, leave early, and do it themselves, but if you’re doing that it shouldn’t be at a huge detriment to your work
