I requested for revised compensation offer letter and last week recruiter asked me counter offer over the email. Can anybody know that bgc will mandatory to send revised offer letter?

I asked helpdesk team and they told me that my bgc status is “Ready for closure”. Also last week recruiter told that i will get revised letter within 2-3 days. But till now no update. Will they provide revised letter?

$530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?
