Nothing is safe from automation. We’ve been seeing it for years now. If you mean a complete and total AI takeover, we are probably still safe for now. Embrace the new tools because somebody else always will be.

I tend to agree with that mindset. Automation has been creeping into almost every role for years. I do not think sales is disappearing, but the people who learn to use new tools will probably stay ahead of those who ignore them.
It would be smart to learn everything you can about AI, and at minimum start using some of the tools. Even if you're just prompting an AI tool for fun projects, or to do some fast research on something you're casually curious about, you'll get familiar with how it works. The conventional wisdom is that anything requiring human judgment won't be replaced by AI, but there will still be a lot of disruption.

I think that is practical advice. Even casual experimentation with AI tools helps build familiarity. In sales especially, tools that help with research, prospecting, or communication can become a real advantage rather than a threat.
