i often find it hard to talk politics around my coworkers. Especially fiscal policies. even the fiscally conservative über capitalist finance bros tend to have a socially liberal streak. But they would all freak at the shelves of stern anarchist and communist thought that fill my bookcases at home. Biz school had the opposite effect on me and just entrenched my deep-seated distrust of accumulated wealth (including my own). So, while I do still have the same problem with plenty of my upper class white gay friends, it’s probably very different from yours.

El pueblo unido no mas sera vencido. Haven’t we all been communists at some time? It’s the totalitarian part that I can’t abide
Poor people are communists, but once they get rich they are capitalists.
But that’s not really true. The older I get, the more money I make and I see the inequality. I don’t understand why people need/want billions of dollars. There are people out there with dozens of billions in wealth. And a lot of other people—hard working people—struggling and starving. Founders of Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. Good ideas, but not really hard work. Children of Sam Walton earning millions just from dividends while employees struggle to get by. There’s human greed and human compassion. Jimmy Carter, on the other hand, has spent his life helping others. On the other hand, Venezuela is a mess. Cuba is suffering I am really pessimistic about the human condition.
