I start a new job this week. I’m kind of nervous. They’ve already been staffing me on new matters and sending me things and have business development meetings and plans for me already. I’ve never been a partner before, and it’s been so long since I had a first day at a new firm.

Is it a good idea to accept LinkedIn invites from people you don't know or don't send any type of note along with their invite? I'm all for networking, but shouldn't a stranger send a note saying why they want to connect with you? (i.e. we work in the same industry and thought it might be good to connect?)

I don’t know if coming out is something I should do or not anymore. My girlfriend and I want to get married in the next couple of years but thats not something I want to keep secret.
