Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Salary.com and Glassdoor are usually pretty good for me. On occasion I will check survey data from Mercer, WTW, and Pearl Meyer, but those are more broad.
The thing to bear in mind is that the market can change and does not always go up…sometimes, wages pull back. Especially when there is more competition for jobs. Right now…there are a lot of people looking for work. Especially those who want Remote work. They are fighting an uphill battle.
I haven’t heard of Mercer, WTW or Pearl Meyer before. I’ll have to check those out.
Yes, it seems much more difficult to find jobs. Even “entry level” jobs. I’ve never thought of the idea that wages could be pulled back. Thanks for the insight!
