I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? Move dilemma:
Currently @ Arthur D. Little Limited Dubai as SE Manager w/ base comp of 285k $ + 10-15% bonus. Vert limited fit w/ people & projects in the region (MEI) & not motivated by seniors. Not happy w/ the job but good WLB. Very likely to promote to Pr which would include a 20-30% jump in total comp but shift to more variable
Move to MBB as PL. Projects & people are supposed to be great and he could see himself in the long run. Comp is 170k $ + 60% bonus. Will take 1.5y to move to Pr

Take my comment with a big grain of salt (there is no right way to map anyone’s career).
Reading about your background, I felt there are too many unknowns and more questions than answers. Why a MiF (over an MBA, especially if consulting is the next immediate goal)? What is your exit plan and long-term career goal after consulting? Why consulting in the first place (over, for example, hospital administration)? None of these things are immediately clear. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but a non-traditional background means you need to be able to deliver your story (why/how of your professional trajectory). You should be able to distill this message within a few sentences (an elevator pitch, if you will).
Thank you for such a thoughtful response. Completely fair questions and ones I asked myself too!
I picked an MiF for a few reasons. Most importantly I wanted to enhance my quant skills, love finance, and wanted to get into a degree that opened doors to career paths that were previously unavailable. I also don’t have the ability to stop working while I go back to school full time and the part time MBAs in my area left something to be desired regarding networking opportunities and ROI.
I love the variety of projects that consulting offers and the ability to meet many different types of people and orgs where they’re at. A team of consultants were brought into my work and in a short time were able to overhaul in a way I had never seen before and I was inspired. Hoping to eventually move into healthcare VC and find ways to bring access to more people.
